We Guard the Gates

"Women are like lionesses at the gate of the home. Whatever happens in that home and family happens because she cares about it and it matters to her. She guards that gate, and things matter to that family if they matter to her . "

"Sisters, you are each like the lioness at the gate. This means that there has to be some prioritizing. I was taught years ago that when our priorities are out of order, we lose power. If we need power and influence to carry out our mission, then our priorities have to be straight."~ Julie B. Beck

  1. Nice quote! I am definitely a lioness...LOL! "Don't mess with Mama Celeste" had been said a few times around here.

I've been getting my life in order a bit, mostly just a shift of priorities to adjust to new commitments. You always inspire me!

  3. Dear Rachel,

Thank you for your quotation. The lioness is a perfect simile and just what the doctor ordered.

I came here "accidentally." I also have 11 children (ages 11 - 30) and teach a Shakespeare class for young scholars! Would you be so kind as to email me at dikefam at hotmail dot com? I am coveting your thoughts and encouragement regarding not seeing eye to eye with my dear husband on taking care of my mother-in-law at home, rather than in an institution.

    Blessings,
    Bonnie
